FIFA 11 Video Game PC: Play It With Keyboard Like Good Old Time

No doubt the FIFA 11, the 19th title in Electronic Art's FIFA Series Football video game, is the best ever soccer game so far. But EA have decided to migrate the controller entirely to Joystick mode and this has left many diehard gamers who likes to play it on Keyboard disappointed!  But worry no more because there is solutions to this problem. I am going to share two modes, choose what suits you! Also I am revealing what the Joy-stick symbol actually means! Read on..

Option I: Simplified Mode

1.Go to Menu, type FIFA 11 and Enter.

2.or find it manually at the installed directory, FIFA 11/Game/fifasetup/fifaconfig.exe

3.Click on the Game settings, then click on in-Game Keyboard tab

Map your controls just like in the screenshot below.

This is the Classic Control Settings, where

A - Lob, Cross, Slyding tackle
S - Pass. Standing Tackle
D - Shot
Q  - Switch player, Triger Run
E - Sprint
W- Thrue ball
Z  - Stop the ball, Pace control 

Now have fun. 

Option II: Virtual Joy-stick Mode

This is a temporary solution for keyboard users who want to access the in-game controller.

How does it work?
We'll be using a driver called V-Joy to emulate a virtual controller to create a fake gamepad, that your keyboard will drive.  

Before installing, make sure you unplug every controller. 

Download the driver from HERE.

Driver Installation and General Setup
a) Once you downloaded and extracted the zip file at the end, you should get four files.

b) Execute VJoySetup.exe

c) During the install, you'll be warned about an unsigned driver. Don't worry about it, just continue.

d) Once the installation is done, DO NOT launch VJoy.

e) Go back to where you extracted the zip and copy VJoy.ini to where you just installed VJoy.

f) Get back to where you extracted the zip, and copy the two last files i.e. patch_controls.exe and KeyToJoy.dat and paste these files to My Documents\FIFA 11. If you find a file named "buttonDataSetup.ini" there, delete it.

g) Launch patch_controls.exe (you might run this as an admin)


Button Remapping
a) Launch VJoy now.

b) It'll load in the system tray, you can right click on its icon, to open it.

c) All you have to do to remap a button is click on the small button at the right of each one and press a key on your keyboard or just select one in the list box.

For Classic Control:

Button 1: Pass

Button 2: Shoot

Button 3: Long Pass

Button 4: Through Pass

Button 5: Trigger Run

Button 9: Pace Control

Button 1: Sprint
